Chicanonews is hardly a few months old, and we’ve had several thousand visitors. I didn’t really have a plan, or a goal when I started this site, I just knew there weren’t enough sites dedicated to US. Though I wish I could sit and pontificate on the ills of society and the injustices my people have and continue to suffer, I can only offer a few of my own thoughts on a regular basis. So, I designed some pretty kick butt software, to scour the web, and find the articles that talk about US. I know it lacks a “human touch,” but like many of your I have very little time to devote to the things I enjoy, such as writing. But I also have a thirst for knowledge about the world, and how it is affecting us in particular. That thirst is difficult to quench these days. It seems as if we are afloat in a vast sea of information, and like being stranded in the middle of the ocean, where there is water every where and nothing to drink, I find my thirst for Chicano events is almost impossible to quench.
So, I decided to filter through the muck, to draw upon my abilities as a super geek, to help me find significance in a world of chaos. So, what you have is Chicanonews.net. Here you will find many articles, some good, some bad, some unique, and some duplicated, but all of them related to Chicanos, latinos, or whatever term you choose to adopt. It is a place where I visit every day. I, like you, scan the articles for what interests me. If you find something you like, drop me a note and comment on it. If it’s something you think is noteworthy, Digg it, if not, skip it. But come back, tomorrow, I’ll always have new and interesting news to read and sometimes enjoy.
Gracias
