Documentary Film on schedule for Sundance 2011

DB Media Entertainment LLC of San Antonio has announced their first concert event, the 1st Annual San Antonio Tardeada Music Festival, November 16, 2008 at Ruben’s Place in Selma .  The acts are a who’s who of the Music Industry and a homecoming of sorts for some of the artists.

The lineup thus far:  Multi-Grammy Award Winner Flaco Jimenez, Grammy Award Winning singer/songwriter Rick Trevino, who has not played in San Antonio in some time, and The Tex Mex Experience featuring Shawn Sahm, son of legendary Tornado founder Doug Sahm. Also on the bill are San Antonio’s own Dog Men Poets who have opened for such acts as the Black Eyed Peas and Fall Out Boy. Other acts will be announced at a later date.

This will be a homecoming for both The Tex Mex Experience and Rick Trevino. The Experience have opened for such acts as Los Lonely Boys, Robert Cray and Susan Tedeschi and have only played in their hometown of San Antonio once, two years ago, in a showcase concert for Sony Nashville. “This will be a great opportunity for music fans in San Antonio to come out and see an honest to God legend and some legends in the making,” said David Pedrazine, the CEO of DB Media.  “It is really awesome that these acts would come in and help out for a cause that will showcase the and personality of San Antonio to the world.”

The purpose of this “Celebrate to Educate” event is to raise funds for a Documentary Film on the founding of La Villa de Bejar, now San Antonio, in time for the 280th Anniversary March 2011.  “We will be holding a series of concerts over the next 2 years to raise the funds for the for the Non Profit Organization San Antonio’s Founding Heritage,” Michael Guerra, President of DB Music said.  “Hopefully, the next one will be even bigger.” Guerra said.

The company is still looking for a director for the film project which will take them to the Canary Islands, Spain, Cuba and .  “We have a short list for the director but I can’t mention any names,” Emmanuel “Manny Fresh” Casasola said.  Casasola is the President of DB Film.  “But I can tell you that it will be someone from San Antonio who is in the .  It would be only right to have a San Antonio Director for a San Antonio Project.”
